- Description: Provides different projects and programs in Shasta County to support families and kids. Programs include: Family Resource Center: Offers case management, parent education and mentoring, diapers, and a clothing closet. Drop-in services are available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. One may also call to make an appointment. Services are free for all caregivers of children up to age 18. Parent-to-Parent Support Phone Line: If one is a parent and needs someone to talk to, they have a phone line. Other parents will listen and help with any issue. One can call anytime, and if they don't answer, leave a message, and they'll call back within 24 hours. Parent-to-Parent Support Group (PLAG): Offers two support groups on Zoom every month. Groups talk about parenting, self-care, and more. Call them for more information. Road 2 Resilience Program: Program helps pregnant women who are at high risk because of substance problems. Also serves families with babies exposed to substances, up to six months after the baby is born. SafeCare Program: Serves those who may be at risk or have been reported for hurting their kids. Provides parent training on how to be better parents. Community Parent Partner Program: Offers help to families with young kids. Must be referred by Shasta County Children's Services. Triple P - Positive Parenting Program: Offers parents advice and support to have a good relationship with their child. Encourages good behavior and teaches new skills. Parent Partners: Supports families with kindergarten kids to help navigate through the school year. Parent Cafs: Offers places for parents to meet new friends, share ideas and learn about community resources. Check website for more information and the schedule. North State Rural AmeriCorps Project (NSRAP): Offers Parent Partner and Skill Builder volunteer opportunities. Camp HOPE America: Camp is for youth aged 8-17 who have gone through tough times. Usually offered in July. Contact to see if one is eligible and how to sign up.
